Skiing & snowboarding in Salzburger Land
Hochkönig's snow realm
Diversity is guaranteed during your skiing holiday in Salzburgerland: skiers and snowboarders can conquer 120 kilometres of pistes with 33 state-of-the-art lifts on the Hochkönig, the summit of emotions. From early December to early April the pistes are the place to be here.
Ski rental and ski bus
You don't have to take all the skiing equipment with you on holiday – it's quite convenient that there is a ski rental right at the hotel and our senior manager Helmut Plenk will gladly advise and help you with his long experience. Pick up your ski pass directly at the Bergheimat reception, take the free ski bus and shortly afterwards you are already on the pistes and can enjoy skiing on the Hochkönig. This is how comfortable your active winter holiday at the Bergheimat Hotel in Mühlbach is.
Hochkönig ski region
The Hochkönig ski region stretches around the three valleys Mühlbach, Dienten and Maria Alm. With 120 kilometres of perfectly prepared pistes and the Königstour (King's tour) the ski region is considered to be one of the most beautiful and biggest in the Amadé Skiing Association.
Pistes of various difficulty levels, guaranteed snow and many cosy ski huts invite you to winter sports bliss with skiing on the Hochkönig.
Königstour - King's tour
Experience continuous skiing bliss almost without unbuckling on the Königstour. In only one round you will leave 32 kilometres behind you – a tour that you can access in Mühlbach, Maria Alm or Dienten. Excellent signposts and great connections to all necessary lifts guarantee relaxed skiing fun. A perfect day trip with friends or family with indescribable moments and wonderful views over the surrounding mountain world.
Skiing schools
Younger skiing fans and those, who want to become one, are in good hands at the skiing schools. Diverse activities and games for children of all ages are on the programme, while “Schneewutzel” the mascot provides motivation and fun. At the end of the skiing course we of course organise a ski race with victory ceremony that lets the young skiers show their skills.
Ski guiding
An expert from the Burgschwaiger skiing school will accompany you for a whole day with a group of like-minded skiers and snowboarders. He will show you the most beautiful slopes for skiing and carving on the Hochkönig and will give you helpful tips for a carefree winter holiday.
Fun at the Kings Park
The perfect snow playground for freestyler of all levels stretches over almost the whole length of the 8-seat Kings Cab cable car; which means incredible 1.8 kilometres. The Kings Park bristles with more than 50 elements, like tables, rails, boxes, … just everything that a boarder or free-skier could ask for. Further adventurous fun parks await you at the Arthurhaus and in Maria Alm.
Starting from winter 2013/14 the Kings Cab cable car offers free WiFi. So, while you enjoy a comfortable ascent in the cable car you can already share your experiences and photos with your friends via the internet.
Spending time together at the Hochkönig
Nevertheless and especially during your holiday on the Hochkönig, you should leave your smartphone in your bag for once and focus on the wonderful world around you instead. Better look for shared experiences in nature, build a snowman together instead of opening a game app, enjoy the ski day with the family. With the slogan "Time together is not available in the app store" the Hochkönig region sets a signal to leave your fast-paced everyday life behind and spend more quality time with your loved ones. You can carry this signal, too: simply ask for a "Gemeinsame Zeit Sticker", available for free at every lift counter in the ski region Hochkönig.
