Around the Hochkönig there is a variety of different bike tours to choose from. Depending on your desire and endurance, you can start right in front of the hotel. We have storage facilities for your bike in the house. If you choose an e-bike, you will benefit from the well-developed e-bike charging station network around the Hochkönig in Salzburg.
During a strengthening breakfast in the light-flooded Bergheimat restaurant you gather energy for an extensive mountain bike tour on the Hochkönig. The dewy mountain air awaits you outside the door and when the sun shines from the sky, the anticipation can hardly be contained. Don't miss out on a special kind of MTB experience - but start cycling at 1200 m above sea level directly in front of the door of the Hotel Bergheimat and explore the numerous tours in the Hochkönig area.
At Bike Mühlbach you can rent mountain bikes and e-bikes. As a guest of the Hotel Bergheimat you receive discounts on the rental fee and a helmet included. Upon request, the bike will be delivered to your hotel.
New and exclusive for hotel guests: From Monday to Friday there are free guided mountain bike & e-mountain bike tours with bike guide Luki. Private guiding tours on weekends for a fee and on Sunday evening there is a personal bike info from Luki on the occasion of our welcome drink.

To the Pronebenenalm
Difficulty: medium
Route: 21,9 km
You start from the center of Mühlbach, first along the main road, then following the signs along the Güterweg Bliem. Up to the Pronebenalm you can also cycle with children, from there the route is only something for the fit. Families and leisurely bikers ride the same route back again. The entire route is marked with yellow signs. Every Thursday you have the possibility to cycle to the Pronebenalm as part of a guided tour.
Karbachalm
Difficulty: medium
Route: 6,6 km
The route starts from the Karbachalm and continues to the Zapferlalm. Then it goes along the family descent to above the Scheppalalm, until you reach a forest path to the Lederer parking lot. From there the trail leads along the family downhill run to the valley station of the Karbachalm cable car. Athletes with good physical condition can easily cycle the way to the Karbachalm!
Hochkeil round
Difficulty: middle
Route: 21,6 km
From Mühlbach you set off in the direction of Dienten. Approx. 1 kilometer after Gasthof Lederer take the first turn to the right (signposted). This is where the Watzmann circuit begins. Up to or from the Saukarlift parking lot, the route is suitable for families. If you have enough strength and stamina, you can cycle up to the Hochkeilkreuz (1,782 m).
Great St.Vitus round
Difficulty: hard
Route: 30,2 km
From the village center of Mühlbach, head along the main road in the direction of Dienten, where the trail continues to the left after just under 900m to Schlöglberg. The goods path leads past the Reithgut and continues in the direction of "Brennerlehen". Before the farm turn right and follow the wide forest road to the Althaus Sattel. Once there, the trail climbs steeply up to the Hubertus Chapel and then descends steeply along the path to the Kinderalm. The tour then runs uphill to the Pronebenalm, where a rest stop is already waiting. Strengthened, the tour then continues along the "Bliem" estate road back to the main road.

Large Bürglalm round via Sunnhüttl
Difficulty: middle
Route: 16,7 km
From the village of Dienten the tour starts in the direction of Mühlbach along the country road, where the tour can also be started from. Then you reach a junction and follow the forest road Bürglalm. After about 3 kilometers, the trail branches off to the right to the Zachhofalm to Bürglalm. Further along the route goes uphill to the peak Wastlhöhe, where a narrow path to Sunnhüttl and Tiergartenalm must be overcome. After the Dientalm and the Dienter Sattel, it's a relaxed walk back to Dienten.
Culinary royal tour: GIPFELGLÜCK
Difficulty: hard
Route: 42,2 km
The tour starts in Dienten and leads up to the Dientalm. Once up there, the first course of the culinary tour already begins. After refreshments, the tour continues along the forest road to the Bürglalm, where regional highlights made from hay milk await the bikers. After the second culinary tour, the path continues to the Königsalm, where the third and last course is already served. After the refreshing shake "forest & meadow" follow the biker route No. 6 and at the Fischerstüberl ride back towards the main road in Dienten.
Mosott-Arthurhaus Round (Tour 3)
Difficulty: hard
Route: 36,5 km
From the center of Mühlbach, the route initially heads in the direction of Bischofshofen until, after just under 1.5km, you join the "Bliem" estate road. The trail leads past the Mitterberghütten and Zimmerberg factory premises back to Mühlbach. There follow the signs to the Mosottalm until you see the sign "Watzmann-Hochkönig-Tour". Turn left and cycle along the path to the Berggasthof Arthurhaus. Then take the Mandelwaldstraße back down to the center of Mühlbach.
E-bike refueling station network
The Hochkönig region has an optimally developed e-charging station network from Bike Energy, which extends across the valley to the mountain. Compatible for all common e-bike systems, it is almost impossible to cycle the battery empty. Because you can always recharge them for free at one of many charging stations. Flow Trails, Pump Tracks & a Skill Area
For those looking for adrenaline-packed action and variety with plenty of power, there is much to experience in the Hochkönig region. Waves and steep turns through forests, forest paths and slopes or grass paths - two professionals from Allegra, designed the trails and guarantee cyclists a unique driving experience on the Hochkönig. On the trails with different difficulties and lengths, beginners and children as well as professionals will find their personal flow. You can conveniently rent a suitable off-road bike directly at the valley station and start up the mountain in summer with the mountain railroad.
Flow Trail Hochkönig
The flow trail starts after an ascent with the 6-seater chairlift including bike transport at 1650 m altitude and winds almost 4.2 kilometers downhill towards the valley station. Already during the ride to the top, a wonderful view of the Salzburg mountains awaits you. Down a steep path it goes over waves, jumps, curves and numerous obstacles - a lot of action and fun guaranteed.
Right next to the Bürglalm Bahn mountain station there is also an MBT Skill Area - a practice area including a pump track.
Flow One Natrun
The almost 3-kilometer-long flow trail "Flow One" promises a lot of action and fun. Arriving at the mountain station "Natrun" with the bike transport, 300 meters of altitude run towards the valley over a wide variety of terrain. The flow trail is ideally suited for families and beginners, and single-trail experts will of course also get their money's worth.
Nani & Madriedl Mountainbike Trail
With a comfortable ascent by Bürglalm chairlift it goes including bike transport uphill, where a breathtaking view of the Hochkönig awaits. At the top is the entrance to two single trails about 300 m above the mountain station. Rooty passages and partly very tight curves contain the almost 600 meters of altitude downhill trail with difficulty level S1-S2. Between the Nani & Mariedl Trail is a short pushing passage to overcome before it goes back to the starting point, the ski center Dienten.
