For a more convenient ascent you will find 5 summer cable cars operating on different days. You just have to choose your favourite trail, pack your backpack and start walking in your hiking boots.
The perfectly sign-posted tours lead you through the Hochkönig region to alpine pastures and huts, past mountain lakes and also to various educational stations. Informative adventure hiking trails show you the Salzburgerland's natural environment from a different angle. The Bergheimat Hotel: quality-tested hotel in Mühlbach
Leisure hikes, mountaineering or Nordic Walking, at the Bergheimat Hotel your day of hiking starts right on the doorstep at 1,200 metres. You still need some equiptment? No problem! Telescope poles, rucksacsk, raincoast and Nordic Walking poles can be borrowed at the hotel for free. The Bergheimat Hotel has been awarded with the Austrian Hiking Certificate for its outstanding hiking competence.

Hiking on the Hochkönig, as far as you want to go
A very special and individual hiking experience awaits you on the Königsweg (King's Path). This long-distance hiking trail with a length of 73km runs past the Bergheimat Hotel. This hiking path can also be taken on stage-by-stage and still makes a beautiful hike: walk through lush meadows and lovely smelling forests, and next to you rough rock formations loom up to the sky. Take a break in one of the rustic huts along the Königsweg.
Salzburger Land Almenweg
The Almenweg leads through most of the Salzburgerland Alps and its first three stages run along the Hochkönig. The mountains' beauty and peacefulness accompany you on this alpine trail and lets you get away from your everyday life and recharge your batteries.
Guided hiking tours

During a weekly hike organised by the Bergheimat Hotel and accompanied by your host you will enjoy a relaxed time with other alpinists and can also discover the most beautiful spots around the Hochkönig: to the Hochkeil mountain top with an outdoor alpine buffet, to the Schneeberg mountain top, via the Stegmoosalm to the Königsweg, to Jakob at the Pronebenalm or to the Bürglam, where farmer Gabi will welcome you. A refreshing finish for every hike is a walk through the Kneipp pool at the local mill in Mühlbach. Afterwards the hiking bus will take you back to the Bergheimat Hotel.
