You can choose from a hiking trail network with more than 340 kilometres in total.
Family hikes
From Arthurhaus as far as Mitterfeldalm
An easy family tour packed with views where you might catch a glimpse of marmots with a bit of luck.
Length: 2.2 km, duration: 50-60 minutes, 160 metres altitude difference
Bürglalm family hike
Hike with your children from Dacheck over the Zachhofalm to the Bürglalm where besides a herb garden a playground also awaits you. Other highlight: the Kneipp course near the Zachhofalm.

Ant trail
More than 200 natural ant hills await you on this wonderful hike from the Tiergartenalm.

Mountain tours for experienced hikers
Whether it’s up to the Taghaube, Lausköpfe, Hohe Torscharte, Hundstein or the other peaks in the Hochkönig region: experienced mountain hikers will find the right challenge with these tours. The absolute highlight is undoubtedly a mountain tour up the Hochkönig.
Up the Hochkönig via the main ascent (difficult)
Conquering the summit of the Hochkönig (2,941 m) is an adventure for experienced and extremely fit mountain climbers. The easiest ascent leads on trail no. 340 from Arthurhaus to Mitterfeldalm and then over the signposted climb to the edge of the Übergossene Alm glacier. After crossing a firn field it continues over a steeper section secured with ladders and ropes up to the summit with the Matrashaus.

Herb hiking: on the trail of green treasure
Nature offers a priceless wealth and variety of herbs around the Hochkönig. During a herb hike you find out everything there is to know about the domestic plants. Hike together with herb experts or set off on a journey of discovery under your own steam. At the region’s 13 hill farms you can find products made from herbs as well as food, teas, creams and spirits and can make things yourself at various workshops. Herb hikes are also on offer for children.
Long-distance hiking on the Hochkönig
You experience enjoyable long-distance hiking on the Almenweg trail that leads along the Hochkönig and continues from there through the Salzburg Alps. The Königsweg trail also offers adventurous long-distance hiking: the stages lead through unspoilt nature, along rugged rocks, through idyllic forests and over challenging peaks.
